Cambridge Open Studios next weekend! Also, Cill Rialaig residency, RHA summer exhibition, recent life drawings

pieces to be framed, my not-yet-tidy studio, and work-in-progress

I'm busy tidying my usually Bacon-esque studio, and doing last-minute framing for open studios the next two weekends - July 5th and 6th and 12th and 13th 10am-5pm, at St. Barnabas Press in Cambridge. Please do come along any time to see new work, old work, and plenty of bargains. I think there's 12 of us exhibiting at St. Barnabas this year, so it's worthwhile straying south of the train tracks! It will still be a working studio so you'll also see works-in-progress, and I'll be doing demos downstairs as well if you're interested to learn a bit about the beautiful process of etching.

We'll have wine tasting on the afternoon of Saturday 5th, and a party that same evening, so please come along whenever and feel free to bring your friends. I can also give you some tips for other studios to visit in the area.

Cill Rialaig, RHA summer exhibition

I'm just back from a residency at the incredible Cill Rialaig Arts Centre in Co. Kerry Ireland. I was handed a pretty basic, very remote thatched cottage and left to my own devices to get a decent amount of work done and bother sheep. I cannot wait to go back and encourage you to drop into their gallery in Ballinskelligs if you're down that way, to support this amazing place.

Also in Ireland - you've got a few weeks left to see the Royal Hibernian Academy summer exhibition in Dublin, for which I had a painting selected, which is also available from their website (https://rhagallery.viewingrooms.com/artworks/), where you can see all the other work also. The show runs until August 17th.

Recent Life Drawings

Been using one of my favourite life drawing tools recently - good old ink and stick. Will have plenty of these to see at my open studios, where you'll also be able to purchase 50 Life Drawings.
